Hospice of El Paso has always prided itself on delivering high quality care for its patients. In their pursuit of continuous improvement, management believed opportunities existed in providing more cost effective care. A significant opportunity was believed to present itself in their intake process and Hospice of El Paso sought out assistance in the exploration and implementation of potential process improvements. Solution
Hospice of El Paso teamed with Romanyk Consulting Corp. (RCC) to conduct an in-depth study and analysis of the comprehensive intake process. The analysis utilized established process improvement tools to discover solutions for optimum effectiveness. The entire intake process was mapped out as is and assessed, each task reviewed to ascertain its impact and value in the process, and a review conducted of time for each task. Recommended improvement opportunities and design solutions provided by RCC aimed to give Hospice of El Paso the required tools to remain a top quality caregiver while being more cost effective.
