Zain Iraq Business Literacy Training
Challenge
Zain Iraq has a guiding principle of matching development objectives to training programs. Company leadership examined what competencies were required to make them successful and then worked to align development programs with strategic objectives. One of the primary training objectives realized was to increase general business literacy. This included opportunities for greater productivity in basic supervisory and management skills, operational capabilities, project management, and industry understanding.
Solution
2007 was declared the "Year of Training" for Zain Iraq. SLMM International, international partner of Romanyk Consulting Corp. (RCC), was contracted to provide business literacy training to employees in telecom basics. The training offered a focused and measureable objective as well as a solution in making greater productivity possible.
Benefits/Outcome
The business literacy training on telecom basics provided validation that there was a clear need for standardization of competencies as well as a general employee development program. Participants benefited by developing the skills needed to implement key strategic initiatives of the executive team. Training incorporated a span of skills covering areas of basic business proficiency to comprehensive understanding of industry state and future market outlook.
