Electrical Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T)

The Electrical Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) will be responsible for implementing design concepts as provided by the Electrical Engineer, as well as be responsible for application of lighting and controls (both interior and exterior), power distribution (interior and exterior), and low voltage systems (fire alarm, data/tele, security, etc.).
Perform electrical evaluations and systems calculations including load calculations, and lighting calculations, among others. The duties of this position will include the generation of lighting, power, low voltage system drawings, one-line drawings, and as-built drawings.
Performs specific and limited portions of broad assignments under the supervision of an experienced licensed Electrical Engineer.
Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications through applying knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and materials.
Provide electrical conceptual and detailed designs, methods and materials specifications, electrical equipment administration, cost estimating, feasibility studies, and support of procurement and construction activities
Make sourcing recommendations for electrical products by studying client and project requirements.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering;
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification; a Professional Engineer (PE) or planning to take the PE Exam in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Two-Three years’ experience performing electrical engineering/design-related duties.
Proficiency in working with Revit MEP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
Proficiency with lighting design software (Visual, AGI 32, etc.)
Proficiency with SKM Power Tools
Must be able to clearly communicate design details, specifications, and operating requirements to other team members in support of business decision-making.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work proactively with project stakeholders requiring strong skills of diplomacy.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Performs a variety of tasks in working under limited supervision; a certain degree of creativity and latitude required.
This position requires an ability to work collaboratively within team environment and take direction from supervisory staff. The position holder will have to be able to work independently and be self-motivated in completing assigned tasks. They must also have strong multi-tasking skills, be capable of performing well under pressure, and possess excellent communication skills.
They will be expected to assist their team to achieve high-quality design, deliver projects on schedule and on budget, while being attentive to innovative opportunities for process, plan, or project improvement.
