EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades Omaha

Romanyk Consulting Corporation (RCC) provided architectural and engineering (AE) services to prepare drawings, specifications and cost estimates to upgrade electrical and IT infrastructure to ready the campus for the VA’s new EHRM system. Prior to design, RCC conducted field investigation to document existing conditions and conducted user interviews. RCC’s team also developed an exception policy memo in order to allow the VA to retain a set of existing IT closets. The RCC team designed the telecommunications systems. This included dual fiber entrance and backbone distribution systems, new cat 6a horizontal cabling infrastructure, and grounding and bonding. The team was also responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. This included split cooling systems, redundant cooling system for the server room, and redundant power systems for all TR rooms. The redundant power systems include normal power, new generators, and 2N central UPS.
