VISN 7: VA Southeast Network

10 Medical Center Campuses, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina

Performed as a Task Order under an IDIQ contract with the OCFM Central Office, Romanyk Consulting Corporation (RCC) conducted a Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) of ten (10) VA Hospitals located within VISN 7. The assessment consisted of approximately 9,772,263 gross square feet and 236 buildings. The RCC team provided hands-on inspections of the technical and physical aspects (Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Vertical Transportation) and performed tours, interviews, inspections, and research at each location.

FCA’s were conducted at the following sites:

  1. Atlanta VA Medical Center (Decatur, GA)

  2. Charlie Norwood VAMC (Augusta, GA)

  3. Augusta VA Medical Center-Uptown (Augusta, GA)

  4. Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (Dublin, GA)

  5. Birmingham VA Medical Center (Birmingham, AL)

  6. Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (Charleston, SC)

  7. Columbia VA Medical Center (Columbia, SC)

  8. Montgomery VA Medical Center (Montgomery, AL)

  9. Tuskegee VA Medical Center (Tuskegee, AL)

  10. Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Tuscaloosa, AL)

After a thorough visual inspection of the technical and physical conditions of VA Medical Center facilities, the RCC team updated the existing FCA database and the VA’s Capital Asset Inventory (CAI). Each asset was given a condition grade and RCC submitted detailed reports outlining any corrective action recommendations and associated costs.
