VISN 12: VA Great Lakes Health Care System

8 Medical Center Campuses, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin

Performed as a Task Order under an IDIQ contract with the OCFM Central Office, Romanyk Consulting Corporation (RCC) conducted a Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) of eight (8) VA Hospitals located within VISN 12. The assessment consisted of approximately 10,159,852 gross square feet and 334 buildings. The RCC team provided hands-on inspections of the technical and physical aspects (Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Vertical Transportation) and performed tours, interviews, inspections, and research at each location.

FCA’s were conducted at the following sites:

  1. Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (Chicago, IL)

  2. Danville VA Medical Center (Danville, IL)

  3. Captain James A Lovell Federal HCC (North Chicago, IL)

  4. Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital (Hines, IL)

  5. William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (Madison, WI)

  6. Tomah VA Medical Center (Tomah, WI)

  7. Clement J. Zablocki VAMC (Milwaukee, WI)

  8. Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (Iron Mountain, MI)

After a thorough visual inspection of the technical and physical conditions of VA Medical Center facilities, the RCC team updated the existing FCA database and the VA’s Capital Asset Inventory (CAI). Each asset was given a condition grade and RCC submitted detailed reports outlining any corrective action recommendations and associated costs.
